BALLINLOUGH COMMUNITY GARDEN

This mural honours the history of Market Gardening around Ballinlough, which once supplied vegetables, fruits and flowers sold by women at the English Market and the Coal Quay at Cork City. It also celebrates the ongoing work of the Ballinlough Community Garden, a shared space where neighbours connect, grow food and care for their community.

The painting process was open to all, inviting locals to contribute, paint and share stories of the area’s past.

This project was made possible thanks to the support of Cork City Council and Pobal Tidy Towns funding, as well as Sample Studios, Rethink Ireland, Community Foundation Ireland,
