This project is a collaborative initiative, organized with the local community through Douglas Street Business Association. Over the course of 4 creative workshops, we engaged neighbours of all ages to explore and develop ideas for a mural. During these sessions, we developed a variety of art activities, where families and individuals came together to create pieces inspired by the themes: identity, community, playfulness and neighbourhood. The project has brought together diverse voices and talents.
Following this stage, during October and November 2024, neightbours joined the painting process of the final mural located in Rutland Square, behind the South Parish Community Centre.
This project is supported by Cork City Council and paints sponsored by Pat Mc Donnell Paints.
